Our Round LARP Viking Shield is made from durable foam that does not shred and is sealed with a strong coating of latex. This shield is unique in that it is actually domed, rather than flat. With a 27 inch diameter, this shield will give you plenty of protection and moves quite well for its size. This Viking Shield has a 5.5 inch handgrip that is located in the center of the shield boss.
Latex weapons do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a 100 ml LARP Protection Gel Silicone (MCI-3722) that can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. We recommend you use the silicone on a regular basis. The silicone will keep the coating flexible and make the weapons last much longer. The maintenance silicone protects the coating from drying out and helps the weapon resist wear and tear.

We already had a couple LARP shields from this provider. I had plans on getting this one for a while for one of my LARP characters. Finally put the order in and it arrived in a few days. I used it yesterday and it is awesome!

I now have two of these shields and they both have held up incredibly well! I personally got my first one for a show piece only, as it looked too nice to really hit things with or get hit. Then my kid cousins showed up and found the things, wouldn’t leave them alone. They used it and my larp weapons – all of which I really never used – as kids do. And the items survived. (Which speaks of the quality they are made of, honestly.)
Ever since, I bought another shield and actually “duel” my sister with them. And these shields can take hits. I mean, don’t go crazy with them and they do kind of dent/bruise. But its hardly noticeable and the “damage” adds flavor/personality to the shields. I HIGHLY recommend this shield to anyone looking to be a warrior, barbarian, viking or whatever medieval theme you can think of. This shield is amazingly light and really does add “confidence” to your character, in and out of battle. (My mom, of all people, loved how it was light. And she’s skeptic of DnD and larp stuff. Lol.)
This is certainly worth getting! The delivery went smoothly and all was safe when I opened it. Both times. Its oiled too, so that’s nice. You will have to oil/condition it from time to time to keep it from drying and such. I wish I could include a picture of the item here, it might help others who need to see it. But this shield type is great! Not too big and not too small.
