Romans ate a variety of foods with nearly as much cutlery, such as the cochlearium spoon. This Roman Brass Spoon resembles that historical utensil. This food-safe spoon has a tapered stem. The stem curves downward just after the bowl of the spoon. It then tapers to a point. Inscribed rings adorn the stem. This brass spoon is wonderful for reenactments, Renaissance faires, and roleplaying.

This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.

Care Instructions:

  • To remove tarnishing, apply some ketchup onto the spoon. Allow it to sit for a few seconds, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Rinse thoroughly, then dry with a clean cloth. Care must be taken to avoid any green-blue discolorations which could be a sign of verdigris. Verdigris is poisonous and must be removed before the spoon is once again food-safe.

Spoon looked nice and functioned well. I ordered two and both work beautifully.
