The original River Witham sword was dredged up from the river Witham, giving the blade its name. The original can be seen in Ian Peirces Swords of the Viking Age on page 77. This sword is hand forged from 5160 carbon steel. The pommel and crossguard are also solid carbon steel with highly polished copper, diamond-shaped inlays. The handle is wood wrapped in leather. Sword also includes a wood scabbard wrapped in leather with steel accents at throat and tip. The sword also has a full, wide tang that is peened at the pommel for added strength and support. Fully functional, this River Witham Viking Sword is just the weapon to wield when you want to resurrect the combat styles of the Norse warriors from history.
