This chainmail tunic offers comprehensive protection with its long sleeve style and knee-reaching length. Made up of steel rings, this hauberk features a zinc finish for a shiny look and resistance to rust as well as a traditional 4-in-1 weave. A 4-in-1 pattern consists of four chainmail rings woven through another ring. The armpits of this hauberk are fully riveted for additional durability. This medieval hauberk will transform you into a medieval warrior or fantasy fighter at your next LARP event or costume occasion. Be sure to wear a padded gambeson underneath the steel chainmail armour, as shown, for safety and comfort. The belt shown at the waist is sold separately, and can be worn to help redistribute the weight of the chainmail for more comfortable wear.

Great quality and nice fit. At 6 ft tall, this almost went down to my knees (without blousing it up). It is galvanized so that helps with rust protection. If you don’t already know, chainmail is heavy (like 19 lbs+). To help with the weight, wear a heavy and tight load bearing belt over the chainmail and above your hips. Then Blouse the chainmail up a little and hang it over the belt so the weight rests on the belt and your waist. Also, wear a gambeson underneath so it doesn’t pinch your skin. For hot weather, the mytholon gadaric canvas tunic worked great instead of a heavy gambeson.

I wanted a hauberk for an upcoming fair but didn’t have the budget for the one I really wanted, so I bought this one. I was really impressed by the craftsmanship and overall quality and finishing of this product. An excellent buy considering the budget price. Be aware that it scales at 29.5 lbs ( verified ) and will require a serious amount of stamina to wear it more than four hours !!
