Just because you are looking to get some armor does not mean you need to spend a fortune on it. This Ready for Battle Breastplate – Steel is a straightforward piece of protection for a modest sum of coinage, one that looks as good as it performs! This breastplate is designed so that it can be worn without a back plate, and it comes complete with all the buckles and straps necessary to put it on. It is crafted entirely in quality 19 gauge steel, which is thick enough to absorb impact and look incredibly realistic, while being thin enough to bend just slightly as need and sizing demands. When worn, it covers the front of the torso and curves around slightly onto the flank, just under the arms, which ensures that your shoulders are free to move (and so are your limbs), while your core receives plated protection. It pairs great with a huge assortment of looks and styles, and that makes this Ready for Battle Breastplate – Steel a solid addition to your armory, allowing you to armour all of your favorite looks with ease.

Please be aware that these items are handmade. Slight deviations in pattern, color, and shape may occur.

To properly maintain your steel armour, always keep the metal pieces away from water and lightly oiled to prevent rusting. Occasionally clean the armour with metal polish and re-oil them. Leather care products must be used to maintain the leather fittings as well.

first let me say that this piece is a absolute STEAL!!!!!..It was a few dollars higher when I ordered mine a week or so ago so it’s even lower now..secondly and most important..the folks advised me BEFOREHAND that the piece and picture did NOT jibe..(match) the piece has been redesigned to eliminate the pointed area under your is shaped like the usual low “U” shape of most breastplate…goes rather far around your sides ( I got the extra large..nice size if your 44 and up.) and the top goes up over your shoulders like most others.. Good solid sets of new leather straps..good buckles on the piece for the straps…The finish is NOT chromed but a decent 7 out of 10 polish…you could with a little elbow grease take it up to a higher finish if desired. Well bottom line is they hit one out of tyhe park for this basic steel breastplate…I wear it on my motorcycle for extra protection…WELL WORTH THE MONEY..shipping was great

For the price, this breastplate is superb! I stand 5′-7”/180 lb. with a 40” waist, and the large fit me like it was custom-made to my body. This was after I bent the sides out *ever so slightly*. The straps are quite long, with plenty of adjustment room. The buckles are a bit different from those on other Epic armor pieces, and a bit harder to fasten, but no biggy. The edges are well rolled for safety and comfort, except for the very tops of the shoulders where the straps are riveted on. I cured this by gluing leather tabs between the steel and the straps…no prob. This looks wonderful with a gorget and pauldrons/spaulders! The polish isn’t the greatest, but I steel-wooled mine down to a satin finish and it looks awesome! Very comfortable over mail, and light enough to wear all day at the Ren-Fest! I gave it lower marks in description because the design has changed…for the better. The neckline is scooped downward now, not pointed upward as in the photos. It is shaped like a conventional breastplate neckline. Excellent!!!….Mark M.

I’m a bigger guy (6’1″, 275lbs) an ordered the XL. With some slight adjustment it fits pretty good. The design looks great, the leather straps are a nice quality and look great also. The overall quality is great an at this price it is definitely worth purchasing.
