The Quilted Arming Cap is worn under a helmet or a mail coif. This arming cap offers extra cushioning for the head. Although the original cloth caps were widely stuffed with rags and straw, our poly-cotton cap is thickly lined with fiber fill. The Quilted Arming Cap is machine washable and is made of quilted construction with a tie cord.

Thicker than other arming caps we’ve tried, this one provides much better protection. It’s also perfect for use with helmets since it doesn’t cover your lower face or slide around like other caps. We’ve used it with HEMA 1600N masks and a steel bascient. If your primary purpose is medieval-style protection under a helm, this thick cap will do the trick!
