This Natural Wood Bokken Sword is a sturdy, effective piece to use for light training. Bokken is a Japanese term applying to any wooden sword of Japanese origin. Bokken actually means wood sword (boku means wood, ken means sword). This bokken features a well-wrapped handle to enable a secure grip, a feature not typically included in the average training bokken. Otherwise, this bokken is left simple and plain. The wrap on the handle is not tight enough, and the hand guard does not stay in place. These are fairly small things, that can be adjusted at home. The overall quality is fantastic. Just fantastic.

These are well worth the price. Nice and simple, like a good kendo bokken, but with a few little pieces that add a nice touch. I don’t expect the wrap to last long, to be completely honest, but the Tsuba guard is an excellent addition. It took a bit of sanding to fit properly, but for the price it’s more than I could ask. Great for practicing form or a light spar.
