The Miniature Bronze Sword of Emperor Charlemagne, by Marto, is a small replica of one of the most well-known swords in the world, the traditional coronation sword of France, once attributed to the great Emperor Charlemagne. The original is kept in the Louvre Museum, in Paris, France. To this day, it is unclear whether the actual sword this replica is based on is Charlemagnes famous sword Joyeuse or if it is a different sword of later date. The Miniature Bronze Sword of Emperor Charlemagne pays tribute to this famous sword. This grand miniature has an ornate hilt, decorated with figures set in relief with a bronze finish. The blade is left deliberately undecorated and simple, although the decorative hilt and guard ensure that this miniature replica remains an authentic collectors piece, if only in small-scale.
