Merc Steel Cuirass

The Merc Cuirass is a unique creation combining leather and steel. The main portion of the breastplate is made of 18 gauge steel and has a nice shiny, polished finish. It has rolled edges for increased safety. The shoulder area of the breastplate and the entire backplate are made up of 7-8 ounce medium weight leather.
Together, the breastplate and brown backplate form the cuirass. The cuirass is available in two sizes. The brown straps that connect the breastplate to the backplate make the cuirass even more adjustable.
There are small steel pegs along the fauld of the breastplate. These are intended for attaching the matching Merc Tassets, which are sold separately.

Care Instructions:
- This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil. Very rare that I give straight 5’s for an item. But if anything deserved it, it would be this. The metal is not flimsy, the back plate is stylish, it fits very snugly onto my body, it has extra belt loops for other universal equipment. A very versatile piece of equipment that fits perfectly with any metal armor look, at an excellent cost. If I absolutely had to pick a flaw it would be the long straps after setting it to my size. A pair of scissors fixes that, easily. (Be sure to leave more space on the straps in case you grow!)

Best cuirass in the online market! Allows your hands to touch clap and also allows greatsword usage movements. Unlike fully steel shoulder cuirasses that handicaps clapping and greatsword usage. The shoulder parts of the,”merc steel cuiras”, are leather. Which allows full arm movement, important is touching each other by clapping or two handed grip. I also bought the tasset, worth the money. Smexy pieces together.

A great purchase for the price its listed at. Solid steel and leather construction and very adjustable to fit your size. I wouldnt use it in a full contact fight unless you dont mind a few dents.

Very comfortable to wear, offers great mobility with a two handed sword, not too heavy for LARP fighting, and accepted paint very well for adding personal livery. My only issue was with the straps for the pauldrons in the same series being a bit awkwardly placed, but that could be the fault of my physique and not the armor itself. Highly recommended for a knight or Renaissance kit!

There’s a reason all of the reviews are 5 stars. Great armor, looks nice, and super comfortable to wear. Some may not care about this, but I found out that you can also tool the leather to a degree. I haven’t tried re-dying it, but I was able to stamp in a design into the back piece.
