Before I start, let me be clear that this review is strictly for the product. I didn’t see it listed in the description, but this brand is California Costume Company. My review has nothing to do with Medieval Collectibles as a company. (In fact, I have had very good interactions with them so far.)
This item is a bagged costume kit. Given the price and the number of items included in this kit, I certainly wasn’t expecting the quality of actual clothing. However, the quality in this kit was so bad, I had to eat the price of shipping twice and return it. Here are a few of the issues: The leggings are so thin as to require wearing something dark underneath. Plus, they just have some basic elastic in the waist and no way to better secure them if that isn’t sufficient for you. I’m 5’9″ (165 lb) and they only came down to my calves. The vest was okay, but very thin and I had a hard time getting it to sit appropriately on my (very normal) frame. The “belts” that hold on the waist pouch and shoulder armor are strips of vinyl so thin that I was worried I would tear it just trying it on. I’ve seen vinyl tablecloths that were thicker. You’d be better off cutting them off and buying a cheap leather belt. The fake boots didn’t look too bad, but when putting them on, they were tight enough to scrunch the pants up and there wasn’t much room to try and stick my arm down to try and pull the pant legs back down. The shoulder armor is just foam with printed gears, which isn’t too bad, but I couldn’t get it to sit straight on my shoulder. Any moving around and the whole thing slid all over and looked askew. I didn’t even open the hat (I already had a real one), goggles, or glove, but they looked to be of similar poor quality.
I’ve had bagged costumes before and understand that they aren’t expected to be highly durable. However, this one was so bad that I doubt parts of it would last one holiday. If all you’re doing is putting it on and not moving around and everyone just looks at you from a distance (say for a low resolution product photo), it actually looks decent. But if you plan to actually walk around, sit, or do any other simple actions, I suggest you spend your money on something else.
