With a long history of use, the pole axe was very popular in the lists, with the winner being decided by the number of blows fairly struck. It was also quite popular for use on the field of battle. With a good sharp point it could be used as a short spear, the back or spike could be used to pierce armor, and the axe head itself was quite lethal, this weapon proved to be an all-around threat no matter where it was encountered. This is a superb copy, with a high-carbon steel blade and langets to protect the shaft. It is, overall, a magnificent example of a polearm.

Very nice quality. It did not come sharpened and the handle is a bit thick, but overall I am very pleased. For not being a specific high carbon steel, it held up very well to use. I was able to stab it into an oak tree and it stayed horizontal after letting go. It also decimated many other trees in the empty lot behind my house. Awesome Christmas gift. It is the scariest weapon I own!

nice fit and finish. It came well oiled. It was not sharpen, will sharpen myself. shaft is a bit thick but manageable. The thick shaft and not sharpen is why I gave it a 4 rating. otherwise am very happy with my poleaxe. worth the money.
