The Lea Canvas Bodice is a stylish addition to the role of fair maiden, whether you wish to reenact a scene from history, mingle with the crowd at a renaissance faire, or join fellow roleplayers in an excursion into LARP territory. Handmade from a robust cotton-polyester blend, the rough weave of the fabric not only increases its durability, but also enhances its authentic look and feel. The form-hugging bodice features wide shoulder straps, each secured by a metal button. Decorative lacing trails down the front of the bodice. Elastic binding adjusts the fit in the back. Triangular pieces of fabric, or godets, widen the cut towards the bottom hem. The inner lining, lacing, and godets of the bodice are black, excluding the cream option, which is only one color.
This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.
Please note that size XS comes up really small therefore we recommend that size for young girls.

Great quality, super fast shipping, no complaints at all. This is a wonderful bodice and the fit is true to size. I received my order 2 days after I placed it. I would definitely recommend especially if you aren’t a seamstress and are intimidated by making it on your own.

For the price, it’s a decent LARP or costume piece. Beware, since it only opens in the back — the front lacing is solely decorative — you’ll need help putting it on properly unless you’re a contortionist!. The buttons are only decorative, as well. To make it garment-worthy you’ll have to do some alterations: open the front lacing panel so you can get dressed by yourself; and reinforce the back lacing (or close it up, as I did — otherwise, the lacing system can tear loose as you cinch up). Some other minor alterations I’m working on: making the buttons functional — stitch them to the bodice along the reinforced seam-line, make buttonholes on the straps; fitting the straps to me — remove elastic, cut straps to size, and reattach. The cream bodice is 100% cotton.
