Situated within the folds of his obi sash, the emperor displays his beloved knife, the Imperial Tanto. Adorned in gold and the royal insignia, this incredible piece displays his honor and authority in stunning detail and design. This blade has been hand forged and differentially hardened from DNH7 high-carbon, polished using traditional methods and tools for an authentic look. These durable materials have been partnered with incredibly detailed ornaments to create a functional work of art. The tsuka, or handle, has been crafted with great patience and focus out of sting ray skin. Silk has been imported from Japan to wrap the tsuka in the age-old battle-wrap style. The fuchi, tsuba, and kashira have all been crafted from pure iron, depicting the chrysanthemum, the Japanese royal symbol. A traditional saya, or scabbard, has been hand-carved to fit the tanto perfectly, lacquered in stunning golden detail. The beautiful Imperial Tanto provides the emperor protection, as it will you whenever you don this piece.
This tanto is part of a limited edition set, partnered with the Imperial Citadel Katana. Each blade is signed by the smith on the tang along with the sword number. A stamped Certificate of Authenticity is included with each piece.
Please keep in mind that this knife has been hand-forged, varying slightly in finish and overall measurements. Also, be aware that marks from the forging process may appear on the finished product as it is crafted by hand to be durable enough for use.
