Harold II (ruled ΓÇô January 5th to October 15th, 1066) was the last Anglo-Saxon King of England. When Edward the Confessor died, the English nobles chose Harold as King. When Harold accepted, William of Normandy invaded England to fight for the throne. Harold was defeated and killed at the Battle of Hastings, in 1066.
