Facing the strangers, you must make a choice, war or peace. Either way, you will face your destiny with the Frontier Tomahawk Pipe. This functional axe has a high-carbon steel blade with a wooden haft. The hollow haft features multiple sections of brass detailing. The studded bands have triangular shapes that wrap around the haft. At the bottom, the haft tapers to a mouthpiece.

At the top, the axe has a single-edge blade. It has a bearded edge, which is an edge that extends further on the bottom than on the top. On the other side of the socket, or the poll, there is the bowl for the pipe. No matter if you wish to wield this axe or put it on display, this axe will surely impress all who see it.

History of Pipe Axes

This axe takes its name and design from the colonial years of European interaction with Indigenous tribes. The name Tomahawk comes from the Powhatan word Tamahaac, which had the root of temah, meaning to cut off by tool.

Meanwhile, the design of the tomahawk spread from the Algonquians to tribes in the South and Great Plains. The pipe and axe head design was a symbol of the choice that they would regularly face when interacting with settlers, peace or war. These peace pipe axes were used for a variety of purposes, including as weapons and ceremonial objects.
