Castle Shield by Marto

The Castle Shield by Marto is an absolutely beautiful shield featuring the intricate design of a castle on its front, as well as an astonishingly solid build of steel and gold-plated rivets. This shield takes the form of a kite shield, which is thought to have evolved from the round shield that was once fairly common. The benefits to a kite shield, aside from a heavier shield with which to defend, is that the extension enables easy defense of the upper legs during melee combat. This shield is actually a later design of the kite shield, known by its modern term, the heater shield. Regardless of origin, however, the Castle Shield by Marto is a beautiful shield that, while solidly made, is meant for decoration, not for use.
