Crafted from 18-gauge mild steel, the breastplate may be worn with or without a backplate, allowing you to create the look you desire, while preventing unnecessary injuries. An oxidation resistant coating not only provides a dark metal finish, but aids in rust and scratch prevention. The breastplate follows a traditional design. A V-shaped flange and rivets increase its deflection capability. The buckle straps at the shoulders and sides allow easy attachment to a backplate or pauldrons.

- This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil. I was skeptical buying an item from an online site at first (especially one of this cost). then i bought it and when it came in the mail i was completely relieved that this product is quality. I highly recommend this item if you are in the market for a breastplate.

Great quality item. It is very dark. The leather straps are a bit long so if you are lean then prepare to put additional holes so it can be secured.

I bought this to replace the small version that I had got in the Epic Warrior set that didn’t fit me well. The medium was a much better fit (although was more comfortable with a leather cuirass or coat of plates underneath, due to a bit of extra space). The metal was nearly solid black, which meant it didn’t match the rest of my armor as well, but nothing a bit of chrome spray-paint couldn’t resolve. Now as the paint slowly takes a beating, it looks like wear and tear from battle, so I like it. Plus, between the black coating and my layer of paint, I’ve had no issue with rust.
