Shortly after the death of Edward the Confessor in January 1066, Harold II was crowned king, yet he soon faced invasions by William of Normandy, his brother Tostig, and Harald Hardrada of Norway. By that October, William had defeated Harold, ending the reign of Anglo-Saxon kings. During Harolds short reign, only three types of penny were minted. The Battle of Hastings Harold II Coin Pack includes a detailed coin replica held in a clear blister pack on the informational card. Designed in recognition of the 950th anniversary of this significant battle, this Anglo-Saxon coin makes a fantastic educational tool and collectible. The Battle of Hastings coin is also a great gift for history buffs.
