The Ansgar Shirt is not what I expected. It’s better than I expected! The fit is true to size. I am 6’1” about 189 lbs., 41” chest and 34 “waste. I ordered the large; fits and looks great. The material is heavy well-constructed cotton. I would not wear this in the dead of summer because of its weight so a late summer early fall, fall and early spring would be perfect. I look forward to wearing it at the Maryland Ren Fest beginning in late August. This shirt looks authentic and will last for years. Customer service was second to none.

this shirt is great, it is heavier than i expected but that works fine for me, Fall events can be chilly in NY. it is well made a has great stitching. the quality of this shirt far surpasses what i expected for the price, you can’t beat it!

I just received this shirt and was disappointed to see the color in the image did not match what I got. I ordered the blue shirt and expected a light blue like the image on the website. My shirt ended up looking more like a dark navy. Other then that the shirt is lovely, and I will be using it regardless.

This shirt is fantastic! It’s a weighty material (so I wouldn’t recommend wearing it during warmer months), but is comfortable. I’m 5’0″ and have a 40″ bust with a 28″ waist so I was worried that when I ordered the large the shirt would be stupid long or too big in certain areas. But it’s not! It comes to mid-thigh which seems to be a good length for LARP shirts. There’s still plenty of movement in the bust line for me, too. It’s not a stretchy fabric so I’d order a size up if you’re worried about it fitting anywhere in particular.

It would have been beneficial if the description mentioned this shirt is made of a cotton CANVAS. I was expecting a light, cotton shirt suitable for wearing under my Gadaric canvas tunics. Unfortunately, this shirt is thicker than the tunics are and the two together is constricting and bulky. The shirt itself however is of excellent quality and is quite comfortable. Just not my style for a top layer.

Bought this to go with the Mytholon leather Garen Tunic. Like the tunic excellent quality and workmanship couldn’t be more happy with it. Again the only problem was no size chart but the large fits my 44 inch chest, a little big for my 32 inch waist but that’s normal.. The green is a lot darker than the picture which is what I was looking for a forest green, so I didn’t have to redye it. Good heavy canvas like material but still comfortable. Never heard of Mytholon before but will be looking for them from now on.

Heavy Canvas. Material seems identical to the Canvas Aaron Cloak. Dinged one star for the parachute cord style ties. Will have to change out for some latago leather strips.

As other reviewers mentioned, the weight of the shirt is definitely more suitable for a colder location. Not going to work out for me, where the ren faire is usually hotter. The best thing I can say about this shirt is that it feels like clothing, rather than a costume. Something authentic that could actually be worn for many years, due to the quality of the craftsmanship.
