Originally based in Acre, the Teutonic Knights was a crusading order of knights created in in the 12 century for the purpose of give medical aid to pilgrims to the holy places. Although they did not originally have a military mission, the need for more combatants against the Muslims forced them to re-organize along military lines in 1198 and adopt the title Ritter, or Knight. They wore a white uniform with a black cross. The Teutonic Knight makes a great collector's item or kids toy. The Teutonic Knight is very authentic to what they wore during that period of time. These figures come complete as shown (clothing, weapons, swords, armour, dagger, and shields) unless otherwise specified. The kids toys are 1/6 scale and all have moveable body parts and everything can be taken off or put back on.
