Tournaments and Jousting has been credited to a French man named Godfrey de Preuilly. The first recorded reference of a tournament was dated in 1066 and refers to Godfrey de Preuilly, who is described as having invented it. In days of old, knights were bold, and known as much for their armor as their skills in battle. Here we present a replica of the historic figure Godfrey de Preuilly, heading off to war in a full set of gear that included intricately worked pieces trimmed in precious metals. His warhorse is equally as well equipped, and rises up on his haunches at the rider’s command. A great gift for collectors of Olde English period costume figures. The statue is made of cold cast resin.
