The Tournament was not merely just a Middle Ages source of entertainment but it was the path to fame and fortune for the medieval knight. The opportunity to collect booty and favor from nobles was too much to pass up in an age of barbaric invasion and provencial conflict. The Tournament also was the arena by which knights could exercise their sport of warfare and their beliefs of chilvary, honor and valor.
